Check the version and support status first
Compucon Stitch & Sew 2.1 is an older Windows digitizing product. Compucon partner Wavenet lists installation files through Windows 11, while US reseller Embroidery Headquarters says its Stitch & Sew downloads have reached end of life and are no longer supported. Those statements concern different sellers and support arrangements; ask the seller of your license what help and activation remain available.
A legacy desktop license is a different purchase decision from starting a new browser-based Trame project. The cited seller pages do not publish a current Stitch & Sew price, so compare actual availability and terms before treating it as a current alternative.
Assisted digitizing or an editable color-region preview
Stitch & Sew includes manual editing, lettering, AutoPunch, and PhotoStitch features, with availability varying by product level. Trame starts from a PNG or JPEG, reduces it to color regions, and generates running or fill paths for inspection. It does not offer the same manual digitizing controls, and its machine exports remain experimental.
If you already own Stitch & Sew, verify its exact version, activation method, and machine format before migrating designs. If you are starting with a new image, inspect the simplified regions and sew a sample regardless of which tool creates the file.
