Two ways to start with an image

Trame reduces a PNG or JPEG into editable color regions, then plans running or fill stitches. PE-DESIGN 11 offers several image-oriented routes, including PhotoStitch and Auto Punch, alongside manual digitizing. If your project depends on Brother's lettering or ScanNCut workflow, check those tools directly rather than judging only from a preview image.

Trame keeps the source artwork and layer settings in a .trame project. Its DST, XXX, and EXP exports are experimental, and its optional underlay, compensation, and securing controls require a physical test sew. PE-DESIGN 11 supports more machine file formats, but the right choice still depends on your machine variant and the design you need to sew.

Check the Windows and dealer requirements

Brother lists PE-DESIGN 11 as Windows software and directs buyers to authorized dealers rather than publishing a current US price on the product page. Confirm the license, computer requirements, and machine format with a dealer before purchasing. Trame runs in a browser and is free to use, though a physical sew-out remains necessary before relying on its experimental exports.
